Calling all design junkies, trend-spotters and artisans, the Interior Design Show (IDS15) is back January 22-25, and I’ve got an inside look at some of the highlights.
Here’s what you won’t want to miss:
- CUBITAT by Urban Capital and Nichetto Studio is a 1,400-square-foot feature that focuses on transformable design and architecture as object. It is a customizable object that responds to small space habitation and connects to its inhabitants via its energized centre, inherent flexibility and ability to personalize.
- MissoniHome 60 Year Retrospective and Pop-Up Shop in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the iconic, internationally-acclaimed MissoniHome. Partial proceeds go towards supporting Habitat for Humanity Canada.
- Designboom Mart, a pop-up shop and Designboom’s only Canadian location is back! Created by Toronto’s Arc & Co. Design Collective, designboom marts are an unprecedented opportunity to meet emerging and established designers from around the world within an interactive platform. Thirty design talents from around the world will display hundreds of objects, from household items, jewellery and accessories to small furniture items and lighting objects. Visitors will have the chance to purchase unique items, directly from the designers themselves.
- Studio North, a total crowd-pleasing, curated collection of emerging practitioners on the Canadian design scene. Yeah for Canada!
